Martin Bailie

Martin Bailie began his radio career on hospital radio in the late 70s in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. He then convinced Downtown Radio’s John Rossborough to give him a one off Christmas show on the station. With copies of that show and his commercial voice over work, Martin headed to sunnier climes to break into professional broadcasting in South Africa.

From 1982 to 2002, he lived a charmed life, becoming one of South Africa’s most beloved national radio and television personalities. He returned to the UK in 2002 and joined BBC Radio Cornwall as their drive presenter until  2021.

He now joins one of his broadcasting heroes, Hendi, on Slice Audio. Martin hosts the Slice Drive show each weekday from 4-7pm.
